Josh Phillips: A Life of Soccer and Fly Fishing

On Friday, October 28th Josh Phillips from the Spawn Fly Shop in Ilwaco, WA showed a short film made by Todd Moen about Josh's life as a soccer player and avid fly fisherman. The 13-minute film shown at Forge George Brewery in Astoria, OR featured highlights from Josh's time playing soccer and recent fishing adventures in Puget Sound chasing sea-run cutthroat trout and coho salmon in the salt. The film was very well attended, with a number of Rainland Fly Casters including Derek Wiley, Tom Scoggins, Dick Magathan, Henry Hoffman, and Dave Hughes in attendance. Prior to the film showing, Derek provided information to those in attendance about the Rainland Fly Casters club and expressed our desire to recruit new members to future meetings. After the film, several folks in attendance expressed interest in learning more about the club and getting on the distribution list for the newsletter.
